Damon Thompson arrested in Howard County car chase
Law enforcement in two counties could be involved in an investigation sparked by a chase late last week.
Damon Thompson was arraigned in Boone County court Tuesday on charges stemming from a burglary lastyear, but police arrested him again on Friday after a chase that started in Fayette.
The Highway Patrol helped stop Thompson near Highway 40 in Boone County.
After authorities stopped him, they found the vehicle riddled with bullet holes.
Now investigators are working to figure out if Thompson has ties to other crimes in Columbia.
“There were actually a couple of bullet holes on the passenger side of the vehicle then we found out later this vehicle, info that was given to me, might’ve been involved in one of the shootings in Columbia,” said Howard County Sheriff Mike Neal.
Authorities aren’t sure which incident or shooting the vehicle could’ve been involved in.
Thompson is currently being held in the Boone County Jail because he was caught between Harrisburg and Rocheport.
Prosecutors haven’t filed any new charges yet stemming from the case, but Thompson’s bond is $120,000.
According to an online database, Damon Thompson also used the alias Marcus Grant
