Woman sentenced to prison for killing toddler
A Mid-Missouri woman was sentenced Tuesday to 22 years in prison for killing a toddler.
Roshell Dawn Johnson, 37, pleaded guilty in April to voluntary manslaughter and child abuse. Johnson was charged in the January 2008 death of 20-month-old Ocean McCoy after shaking the child.
The girl suffered serious brain injuries she sustained while in Johnson’s care. She was transported to University Hospital and died the following day.
