Local meat locker remains closed for dirty conditions
A mid-Missouri meat locker failed a follow up inspection after being closed for dirty conditions.
The Missouri Department of Agriculture told ABC 17 News Friday the owners requested a new inspection on July 2, but the sanitation issues had not been addressed.
The department originally cited Mexico Meat and Produce for a number of sanitation violations on June 19.
Some of those include a build-up of fat and grease throughout the facility, and numerous amounts of flies and surfaces covered with dirt and debris.
Consumers are urged by the AG department to carefully inspect any meat from the processor before eating it. The meat locker remains closed.
