Man arrested for allegedly punching court marshal
A Columbia man remains behind bars Wednesday after he allegedly assaulted a court official.
Robert S. Kowalski, 20, has been charged with assault on a law enforcement officer after he reportedly struck a court marshal in the face twice.
According to the Boone County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Kowalski was being processed Monday when he allegedly assaulted the marshal. The marshal was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Kowalski is being held in the Boone County Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond. He’s scheduled to appear in court later this month.
