Four in custody for string of Morgan County burglaries

Sheriff’s deputies in Morgan County have four suspects in custody for a string of burglaries targeting a specific religious denomination.

Between June 16-24, several burglaries were reported at Mennonite-owned business in northern Morgan County.

The Sheriff’s Office searched a home on June 26 in Stover in connection with the burglary cases. In the residence, deputies found several of the stolen items, as well as two firearms that were also reported as stolen.

Further investigation showed the suspects may be responsible for at least 25 burglaries in several counties, including Morgan County.

The Sheriff’s Office says all of the burglaries occurred at Mennonite-owned businesses.

Authorities have four people in custody for the burglaries, but their names have not been released pending formal charges. Deputies expect to make additional arrests.
