Man charged for two assaults with a handgun

A Columbia man was arrested Sunday in connection with two incidents involving a gun.

On Sunday, police responded to the 3300 block of Premier Lane for a report of a disturbance with a weapon.

Officers arrested 45-year-old Lester Lee Davis and say he allegedly pointed a gun at a female victim and threatened others.

In a similar incident on June 16, police say Davis struck a different female victim in the head with a gun.

He has been charged with armed criminal action, second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Davis’ bond has been set at $200,000 and he is not allowed to have any contact with the victims.

He remains in the Boone County Jail as of Monday evening.
