NBA Draft: Alex Oriahki selected by the Phoenix Suns

On Wednesday night Alex Oriahki posted a video singing along to the Destiny’s Child song “Say My Name”.

On Thursday night, in the second round of the NBA Draft with the 57th pick, the Phoenix Suns said his name.

“I’m tremendously happy for Alex, we had 3 guys drafted in two years.” Missouri head coach Frank Haith said. “In Alex’s case he came to us last summer, and we watched him develop into a great player. I’m real excited for him and his family.”

Now Missouri waits to see where three other eligible Tigers will land, Phil Pressey, Laurence Bowers and Keion Bell.

Pressey, who left Missouri before his senior year was expected to be a late first round first-round pick. In a guard heavy draft that saw 12 point guards taken, Phil Pressey became the first player for Mizzou who left early and was not drafted since Thomas Gardner in 2006.

Haith believes Pressey and Bowers will be picked up quickly as free agents, adding the two are in a better position not being drafted because now they can pick which team they will end up with.
