Police identify suspects in Friday shooting near Columbia apartments
Police have identified two suspects from last week’s shooting off Old Highway 63 near Stephens Lake Park.
Investigators confirmed Monday Kimo Spivey and Tabisha Franklin were both involved in the disturbance just after 5 p.m. Friday. Neither of them are in custody.
Officers found five shell casings outside Lakewood Apartments at 206 N. Old Highway 63. They think Spivey and Franklin are part of an ongoing dispute.
Spivey allegedly fired at the two victims, a 45-year-old black man and 40-year-old black woman. Nobody was hit, but Franklin is also accused of assaulting the woman with a tire iron. She went to the hospital before police arrived.
Kimo Spivey is described as a 23-year-old black man, 5’11” and 225 lbs., and he is considered armed and dangerous.
Tabisha Franklin is a 32-year-old black woman, 5’4″ and 192 lbs.
Detectives do not believe the attack is gang-related, but they are asking anyone with information to call the Columbia Police Department or Crime Stoppers at (573) 875-TIPS, to remain anonymous.
