Jefferson City police make arrest in Break Time robbery

Jefferson City police arrested 21-year-old Joseph Cooper early Saturday morning for a Break Time robbery Thursday.

Cooper was allegedly with a group of juveniles at the skate park when an officer drove into the park on routine patrol. Police said Cooper saw the officer and took off running before being caught and taken into custody.

Joseph Cooper was being held Saturday night in the Cole County Jail, accused of robbery and resisting arrest.

The robbery happened just after midnight at the Break Time on West Main Street.

Police say the suspect took cash out of the register. The clerk was not injured, but did chase after the suspect who ran eastbound on West Main Street near Jordan Street.

Detectives were called to the scene and are investigating.
