Man arrested for cutting ex with razor
A Moberly man was arrested Monday night for assaulting his ex-girlfriend and cutting her with a razor.
According to police, 45-year-old Mark Dwayne Jones showed up to his ex-girlfriend’s home in the 2500 block of Quail Drive in Columbia.
Jones started yelling at the victim and approached her with a straight razor. Police say he then swung the razor at her, cutting her on her right hand and head.
Officers arrested Jones Monday evening on charges of armed criminal action, a violation of a protection order, second-degree assault and a felony warrant for his arrest.
Boone County prosecutors charged Jones Tuesday with armed criminal action and second-degree assault with a bond set at $50,000 cash-only. He remains in the Boone County Jail as of Tuesday afternoon.
Court records state he cannot have any contact with the victim, possess any dangerous or deadly weapons or possess/consume intoxicants or controlled substances.
