University of Missouri Board of Curators approve budget, renovation projects

The University of Missouri Board of Curators met Thursday to discuss plans to move the university forward.

Included in their discussions were budgeting plans and building upgrades to the historic Jesse Hall.

The board approved the 2014 fiscal year operating budget as well as updates to Jesse Hall. The renovations will include an HVAC system, fire safety upgrades and a new elevator.

Curators approved the renovation of Swallow Hall, which houses the Museum of Anthropology, as well a $71 million project that will fund two new residence halls and a dining hall.

A press conference is scheduled for Friday morning at 11:30 a.m.
