Jefferson City man seriously injured in motorcycle crash

A Jefferson City man was seriously injured in a Tuesday morning accident on Missouri Route 94.

According to the Jefferson City Police Department, a car and a motorcycle were traveling on the ramp from northbound Highway 54 to eastbound Route 94 around 8:45 a.m. When the car slowed to yield to oncoming traffic, the motorcycle crashed into the back of the car.

The crash ejected the driver of the motorcycle, 28-year-old Matthew D. Loehr. Police say Loehr struck the rear window of the car and then fell onto the road.

Loehr was transported to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.

The driver of the car, 50-year-old Marianne T. Jones-Detoito of Jefferson City, was not injured.
