Kidnapping, rape ringleader sentenced to 90 years
The man who investigators say was the ringleader in a violent 2012 rape and kidnapping in Moberly was sentenced to 90 years on Friday.
It is still unclear how long Sean Williams will spend in prison due to the nature of his offenses and his past convictions.
Detectives say Williams kidnapped a woman last year at Motel 8 in Moberly, raped her and then held her hostage in a deep freezer in a rural area outside Renick. She was able to get away.
In March, Williams was found guilty on multiple charges.
“It’s important to take the person who’s involved in the most serious offenses and make him accountable,” Mike Fusselman, Randolph county prosecuting attorney, said.
Two others have already pleaded guilty in this case, and in exchange, they testified against Williams.
