Police make arrest in Columbia arson

Columbia police have made an arrest during their investigation of a fire.

The fire happened May 14, at 2113 Pleasant Way in northeast Columbia. Firefighters found gray smoke coming from the basement of a home.

Investigators say it appeared to be large piles of burning trash.

On May 30, Columbia police arrested Arnold Larson, 41, of Columbia.

He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree arson and taken to the Boone County jail.
