Man accidentally shoots himself in Casey’s General Store parking lot
A Mid-Missouri man is recovering from a gunshot wound after he accidentally shot himself in the posterior.
Columbia police responded to the Casey’s General Store on Paris Road around 7 p.m. for a report of a man with a gunshot wound.
Police say the man has a concealed carry permit and was taking the gun out of his back pocket before entering the store. As he was removing it from his pocket, the gun discharged.
Officers told ABC 17 News the safety was not on and no one else was hurt.
