Flooding causes problems on Boone County roads

Boone County emergency crews have worked four water rescues today after heavy rains flooded local roads.

The most recent was underway on Acton Road near the Missouri River

As of 1:30 p.m., the county had 35 roads closed due to high water.

MoDOT officials say the heavy rain caused a patched pothole to pop, which in turn caused several drivers to have blown tires.

MoDOT also warned drivers about water over I-70 near the 123 mile marker.

Emergency crews say drivers need to use caution out on the roads and flooding remains a concern throughout the weekend.
