Cole County crews keeping an eye on flooding

Crews have closed seven roads in Cole County and Jefferson City because of high waters due to flooding.

Public works crews said creeks were backing up and that authorities were also keeping an eye on the Missouri River.

As of 1:00 p.m. today, the river was flooding farmland in the area and officials were calling for a crest on Monday of 30 feet.

At that height, the river starts to threaten the Jefferson City Memorial Airport. City public works officials said airport workers were on standby in case they had to evacuate.
