Memorial Day parade in Columbia canceled

Organizers have canceled the Salute to Veterans Memorial Day parade in downtown Columbia.

The 25th annual parade, scheduled to begin at 9:55 a.m., and ceremonies were canceled around 9:30 a.m. due to inclement weather.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to move through the region on Monday.
