Jefferson City fire crews respond to bedroom fire

A Jefferson City family’s home was damaged in a small fire Sunday morning in the 1300 block of East Miller Street.

Interim Fire Chief Jason Turner told ABC 17 News the fire started around 9:30 a.m. in a second floor bedroom, damaging it and the attic above.

No one was home at the time of the fire. No one was injured.

Turner said it took firefighters about ten minutes to get the small fire under control.

In all, 14 firefighters responded to the scene.
