Five people arrested after burglary and disturbance in Jefferson City

Five people were arrested in Jefferson City Sunday after getting into a disturbance with police officers.

Around 1 p.m., police were dispatched to a possible burglary in progress in the 800 block of Monroe Street.

Police found a group of people in the area “acting suspiciously” and officers determined one of the people in the group was a suspect in the burglary.

As police approached Cameron Jackson-Bey, 21, of Jefferson City to question him, he allegedly became combative. Officers arrested him on charges of first-degree burglary, third-degree domestic assault and stealing.

While officers were placing Jackson-Bey under arrest, four other people in the group began to approach the officers, allegedly yelling obscenities and making threats.

Police sprayed the four individuals with pepper spray and took them into custody.

Police arrested 18-year-old Kayla Kennemore, 17-year-old Aaron Burns, 19-year-old Senesha Hickman, and 22-year-old Quinton Hickman, all of Jefferson City, for interfering with arrest, failure to obey a police officer and resisting arrest.

No officers were hurt during the disturbance.
