Three weekend burglaries on Jenne Hill Drive have residents worried about safety

Three weekend burglaries on a northeast Columbia street have neighbors concerned about their safety.

All three break-ins happened on the same side of the street within a 24-hour time frame.

A call came in a little after midnight on Friday about a burglary on Jenne Hill Drive.

The next night, two more calls came in reporting break-ins on the same street.

One victim reportedly saw a person leaving out the back door of the victim’s property with high-dollar items including jewelry, laptops, TVs and gaming systems.

“I didn’t really expect that in this kind of neighborhood, but anything can happen I guess,” Grant Gatzemeyer, a Jenne Hill resident, told ABC 17 News.

Other neighbors said they’ve noticed cop cars cruising up and down the street every few hours at night since the incident.

But that still doesn’t take away all safety concerns.

“My wife, she stays home all day by herself, so it is a little worrisome,” another Jenne Hill resident said.

Police said they have not identified any suspects but are still looking for clues.

Residents of the quiet neighborhood say they hope police will be able to find out who is responsible soon so they can rest a little easier at night.
