Moberly murder suspects facing 18 new charges, including robbery and armed criminal action
Two men charged with first-degree murder after an Easter Sunday crime spree are now facing additional charges.
Randolph County prosecuting attorney Mike Fusselman told ABC 17 News that he filed 18 new charges against Christopher Lewis, 18, and Jeffrey Nichols, 22.
Those 18 counts include four counts of first-degree robbery and three counts of armed criminal action.
Fusselman is seeking the death penalty against both Lewis and Nichols.
The two man face first-degree murder charges for allegedly killing Carmelita Kaser, 92, of Moberly on Easter Sunday.
Police say the two men used a “machete-like” knife they stole from Walmart earlier that day to kill Kaser.
Last month, police investigated the suspects’ involvement in shooting two men, beating another woman, stealing several cars and setting one car on fire during their crime spree.
