Columbia Police investigate home invasion

Columbia police are looking for more suspects after a home invasion robbery.

One man, Tre Cooper, 20, was arrested after he was allegedly caught with evidence from the scene.

Officers say the break-in happened at an apartment in 1600 block of Hanover Boulevard around 1:37 a.m. Sunday morning.

Three unidentified black males armed with handguns, wearing hooded sweatshirts and masks forced their way into an apartment. The suspects then ransacked the apartment and took items.

No one was injured. Police say the apartment smelled of marijuana. The men fled in an unknown direction.

Around 4 that same morning, officers responded to a separate disturbance near Blue Ridge Road and Rangeline Street in north Columbia. A woman said Tre Cooper damaged her car. After police searched Cooper, they also allegedly found the robbery victim’s debit card on him.

Police are still investigating the home invasion.
