Former strip club owner sentenced for owning illegal firearms

The former owner of a Mid-Missouri strip club was sentenced in federal court Thursday for illegally owning dozens of firearms.

A judge sentenced 57-year-old Jimmy Duane Davis to two-and-a-half years in federal prison without the possibility of parole.

Davis was the owner of the now-defunct Eclipse Gentleman’s Club in Sunrise Beach.

He had pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of 31 firearms in July 2012.

According to officials, federal agents searched Davis’ residence and business in 2010. During the search, they found over two dozen shotguns, rifles and handguns along with ammunition.

Because Davis has two prior felony convictions for methamphetamine trafficking and selling marijuana, it is illegal for him to own or possess firearms.
