Cardinals shut down Nationals
A few hours after pitcher Adam Wainwright signed a multimillion dollar contract extension, another Cardinal ace took care of business on the mound.
Jaime Garcia pitched eight innings Wednesday only allowing one run and six hits, as the Red Birds blew out the Washington Nationals 10-1.
The Nationals’ lineup didn’t include anyone on its projected 25-man roster.
Cards manager Mike Matheny substituted minor league players later in the game.
