Woman Killed in Wrong Way Crash

***UPDATE THURSDAY 6:51 A.M.***Jefferson City police have identified the victim of the fatal accident as Chelsea Fredrickson, 19, from Camdenton. The passenger in her car, Jasper Richmond, was seriously injured and flown to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.The driver of the Ford Ranger has been identified as Dennis Leporin, 29, from Columbia. He suffered moderate injuries and was treated at a local hospital.Police continue to investigate the accident.***ORIGINAL STORY***A Camdenton woman was killed late Wednesday night in a wrong way crash on Highway 54 at Missouri 179 in Jefferson City.Investigators at the scene said alcohol may have been a factor that led a man in a Ford Ranger to turn the wrong way onto Highway 54. That vehicle then struck a Saturn sedan, driven by the victim, around 10 p.m. The passenger in that vehicle was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.A Staff for Life helicopter was brought to the scene around 10:30 p.m. and the highway remained closed into the night.Stay with ABC 17 News and abc17news.com for updates as they become available.
