The Only Ten I See
Three weeks ago, the Tennessee Lady Vols beat Mizzou in Knoxville by 45 points. Tennessee, of course, is one of women’s college basketball blue bloods. They’re perpetually ranked among the top-10 schools in the nation — this season being no different. Sunday afternoon, inside Mizzou Arena, the Tigers got rather remarkable revenge. Missouri (15-8, 4-5 SEC) hammered 9th-ranked Tennessee, 80-63, marking the Tigers first win over a top-10 team since beating Baylor in 2010. The Tigers were led by the sharp-shooting of sophomore Morgan Eye who hit 6-of-12 3-point attempts on her way to 26 points. Bri Kulas chipped in 20, and as a team, Mizzou shot 53% from the field. Their offensive game was so in synch, the Tigers assisted on 23 of their 29 made shots. A season-best 4,181 attended Mizzou Arena.
