Pedestrian Seriously Injured

A Jefferson City woman remains in the hospital after she was hit by a van Wednesday morning.Police say 56-year-old Carol Ortbals was crossing Jackson Street around 8 a.m. near Lincoln University when she was hit by a van making a left onto Dunklin Street.The woman was transported to a local hospital before being flown to University Hospital in Columbia. As of Wednesday afternoon, she was in critical condition.Jefferson City police continue to investigate the crash.
