Man Stabbed Repeatedly at Motel

Columbia police arrested 21-year-old Zackery Simmons after they say he stabbed someone several times during an argument.Around 1:45 a.m. Saturday, officers were called to the Days Inn Motel on I-70 Drive Southwest for a report of a disturbance involving a knife in the parking lot. Officers determined a 31-year-old male victim had been stabbed repeatedly in the parking lot. The victim was transported by a personal car to an area hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.During a search of a motel room, police found the knife used in the assault and arrested Simmons on charges of first degree assault and armed criminal action. His bond has not been set yet.
