Man Arrested for Meth Possession

Jefferson City police arrested a man Tuesday after he allegedly stole items from a Walmart and was carrying methamphetamine.Officers say 46-year-old Kevin Hiatte fled from the Walmart off E. McCarty Street after stealing several items. A K-9 unit was able to track to down Hiatte hiding in the woods.Police located his vehicle and the K-9 unit alerted officers to the possibility of drugs in the car. Cops founds meth, unknown pills, drug paraphernalia and items that would be used for the distribution of drugs.Hiatte was arrested on charges of shoplifting and possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.
