Local Bank Closes in Columbia

On Friday Shelter Bank in Columbia officially closed its doors for the last time. In September the business announced it was shutting down because new regulation was getting too expensive.The location opened in 1999 and grew to over 20 workers last fall. Those employees have since moved on or found new spots with its parent company, Shelter Insurance.
