3/14: Drought Improves

Rainfall from last weekend along with melting snow improved drought conditions across Mid-Missouri and the state. The eastern third of the state is drought-free, extending as far west as Rolla and much of Osage and Maries counties. Most of Mid-Missouri is now considered abnormally dry, which is the lowest level of drought. This is an improvement from moderate drought status last week. Western Missouri remains in moderate-to-severe drought. Expect similiar drought conditions or slight improvement for next week as chances of rain return for this weekend into early next week. Best rain chances will be for areas south of I-70.
