Hickman defeats Vianney to win third place in state tournament

The Hickman Kewpies head coach David Johnson wanted his team to play with pride, and today he got just that.

Coming off a tough lose to Rockhurst in the State Semifinals, the Kewpies jumped out quickly against Vianney and stayed ahead. Shooting 47% in the game, the Kewps used a stingy defense that forced 17 turnovers in their 65-53 win Saturday morning.

Hickman was led by Junior Chris Clark who had 19 points and 9 rebounds. Sophomore Jimmy Whitt added 14 points, 4 blocks and 3 steals for the Kewpies.
