Wanted Man Captured in Columbia

Columbia police arrested a fugitive Monday morning, who was wanted on several felony warrants.Around 1 a.m. Monday, CPD officers were called to the 1500 block of Tupelo Place in order to find 25-year-old Rashad Washington. Officers found Washington hiding in the attic of the residence and arrested him around 5:45 a.m.Washington was arrested for a felony warrant on two counts of distribution of a controlled substance and a felony probation and parole warrant. His bond was set at $30,000 for the drug warrant, with no bond set yet for the probation and parole warrants.In September, Washington eluded officers during a search near I-70 and Rangeline. Columbia police, Boone County Sheriff’s deputies, and Highway Patrol troopers spent two hours searching for him near a construction site on Vandiver Drive and I-70, but never found him.
