Truman Lake Suspect Arrested

Springfield police have arrested 47-year-old Anthony Balbirnie in connection to the death of Khighla Parks, the teenager whose body was found in Truman Lake last week.ABC sister station KSPR in Springfield is reporting Balbirnie led officers on a car chase before he was apprehended. The connection between Parks and Balbirnie is not known as of Monday night, but the two were Facebook friends. He is the prime suspect in Parks’ death.ABC 17 News reported Monday that investigators have concluded Parks was dead before her body was weighted down and dropped in Truman Lake on September 30. The investigation had moved from her home in Willard to Buffalo, MO. Parks was last seen leaving her home on September 20.We will continue to follow developments in this case and bring you the latest here.
