Teacher Enters Not Guilty Plea
A Russellville teacher pleaded not guilty to four counts of statutory rape on Tuesday.41-year-old Scott White waived a formal arraignment and entered the not guilty plea in Barry County. The judge also sustained White’s motion for a change of venue, transferring the case to Lawrence County. White’s next court appearance is scheduled for January 14, 2013.In early November, Cole County R-1 School District told ABC 17 News that White was hired on August 17, 2012. The district also stated that White is currently on administrative leave from his position as a teacher and boy’s basketball coach as of November 9th. The charges are for an alleged rape in southwest Missouri, not in Cole County.
