Suspects Sought in Home Invasion
***UPDATED 6:47 P.M.*** Det. Tom O’Sullivan with Boone County Sheriff’s Department said the home invasion may not be a random act. The pair of suspects ransacked the duplex with the occupants, a man and woman, inside. The suspects flipped open drawers and looked into closets and took some items– items the detective would not divulge because of the ongoing investigation. “But we feel confident at this time that the people who committed the home invasion and the people who live there are known to each other in some manner,” said Det. O’Sullivan, leading him to believe the victims were targeted. This is the ninth home invasion within the city of Columbia and Boone County since late August. “One of the things I want to stress is most of these home invasions, the overwhelming majority of them are not random acts, but people who engage in criminal activities, drugs…” said Det. O’Sullivan. ***ORIGINAL STORY*** Boone County Deputies are looking for two men who held a couple at gunpoint and robbed them in their home Thursday morning.
