Stadium Traffic Flow to Change

Seasonal changes to holiday traffic flow on Stadium Boulevard go into effect Sunday night, only this time the changes will remain in place after the holidays.The changes are put in place to deal with the increase in traffic near the Columbia Mall.MoDOT officials say this time the changes will remain, as they gear up to begin road work next spring to widen Stadium Boulevard and build a diverging diamond interchange at Stadium and I-70.Starting Sunday, November 18th, weather permitting, the following changes will take place:- The I-70 South outer roadway will become right turn in, right turn out on both sides of Stadium Boulevard. – Left turn movements will not be permitted to or from Stadium Boulevard. Motorists on the east side of Stadium Boulevard should use Beverly Drive and Bernadette Drive to access Stadium Boulevard. – Motorists on the west side of Stadium Boulevard can use Knipp Street and Bernadette Drive to access Stadium Boulevard. – The signals at Stadium Boulevard and the south outer roadway will be adjusted to allow for an extension of the left turn lane from southbound Stadium Boulevard to eastbound Bernadette Drive. – The left turn lane for northbound Stadium Boulevard to westbound I-70 will also be extended to handle additional traffic.
