Serial Bank Robber Convicted

A jury has convicted a man of two bank robberies in Columbia earlier this year.U.S. Attorney’s Office spokesman Don Ledford says Eddie Prince Roberts, 39, was found guilty of robbing the Boone County National Bank at 203 East Walnut on April 23rd and the Landmark Bank at 109 East Nifong on May 8th.Prosecutors say Roberts physically assaulted a Landmark Bank teller by punching him in the face and head, then threatening to shoot him if he did not comply. Roberts also allegedly punched a customer at the bank who got in his way at the door.Ledford confirms Roberts has already been convicted of six previous bank robberies.A sentencing date has not been set yet, but federal prosecutors are seeking life in prison.
