Ragtag Cinema said Sunday it needs to raise at least $20,000 in the next 50 days otherwise it may be forced to close because of increased operating costs.On the business’s Kickstarter page, management writes that studios will stop releasing major motion pictures on film, instead moving to digital projection. In order to retrofit the cinema’s theaters with all digital projectors, the business needed to raise nearly $100,00 but has been saving for years.Managers said Sunday that without being able to show those high-profile movies, the cinema wouldn’t be able to recover its operating costs with ticket and food sales.
