Orscheln Lays Off Employees

Orscheln Property Management confirmed Tuesday it laid off nearly a dozen employees in recent weeks.A spokesperson for the company says ten workers were laid off in late October from their headquarters in Moberly.Orscheln Property Management General Manager John VanCleve released the following statement:”Orscheln Property is primarily a commercial real estate firm and unfortunately the Midwest commercial real estate market started slowing down four years ago and has not improved to pre-2008 levels… As a result, Orscheln Property, like other commercial real estate companies are forced into a position of laying off good people because of the slowing economy.”Orscheln Property is a unit of Orscheln Industries based in Moberly, including Orscheln Farm & Home stores.
