Mom Pleads Not Guilty to Murder
A Moberly woman charged with the death of her newborn appeared in Randolph County Circuit Court Wednesday.Cassidy King, 26, of Moberly is charged with second degree murder. She’s accused of killing her newborn baby in 2011.In court Wednesday, King waived formal arraignment and pleaded not guilty.King’s attorney, John Roodhouse, requested a change of judge and a change of venue. The Missouri Supreme Court will assign a new judge, because the court approved Roodhouse’s request.King wants the case moved from Randolph County because of extensive news coverage. There has been no ruling yet on the change of venue.King’s next court date has not been set yet.
