Man Sentenced for Robbery

A Columbia man has been sentenced for an attempted November 2011 bank robbery.Police arrested Andrew Smith at the Merchant and Farmers Bank on Rangeline. Tips from bank employees said Smith was acting suspiciously in their branch the day before the robbery.During his arrest, officers found a robbery note on him.Smith pleaded guilty to attempted robbery in August. This week, he was placed on five years of probation.
