Man Questioned for Murders

***UPDATE THURSDAY 6 P.M.***Morgan County Sheriff’s officials say no murder charges have been filed in the case yet because investigators continue to get new names of possible suspects.Sheriff Jim Petty told ABC 17 News his department is checking all leads in the case and the investigation is changing hour-by-hour.However, Ronald Blowers continues to be held in the Morgan County Jail on a $1 million bond for resisting arrest and creating a substantial risk of serious injury or death. He has not been charged for the murders.Investigators spent much of the day around the crime scene searching for the murder weapon and other evidence.***ORIGINAL STORY***A Morgan County man is being held in connection with the murders of Wayne and Mae Wells Monday night.According to recent court documents, investigators found 25-year-old Ronald Blowers while tracking a stolen gun after the murders.Authorities went to a home on Sunset Road in Stover on Tuesday, where they say Blowers repeatedly stabbed himself in the stomach, saying, “I did not mean to do it.”They ordered Blowers to drop the weapon, but he ran off and stabbed himself again several times.Officers used a TASER and pepper spray on Blowers before tackling him to the ground.Blowers was also the driver of car that crashed around 6:15 p.m. the night of the murders. According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, Blowers crashed and flipped his car at Ivy Bend Road and Hillview Road. That intersection is just blocks away from the victims’ home. Blowers was charged Wednesday for resisting arrest and creating a substantial risk of serious injury or death. Blowers is being held on $1 million bond. He has not been charged for the murders.
