Man Arrested for Sex Crimes

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department Cyber Crimes Task Force arrested a Columbia man Saturday for trying to entice a child online.Investigators say 27-year-old Shaun M. Dierker began to talk online with a person he thought was a 14-year-old boy, but was actually an undercover detective. After several emails and text message conversations, investigators say Dierker enticed and encouraged the boy to meet so they could engage in sexual conduct. Dierker set up a meeting at a local restaurant on Saturday with the boy, but was met by detectives. Investigators seized his cell phone and two computers.Dierker was arrested on charges of attempted enticement of a child and second degree attempted statutory sodomy. His bond has not been set. He remains in the Boone County Jail as of Sunday morning.
