Jeff Junior HS Lockdown Lifted

***UPDATE WEDNESDAY 5 P.M.***Officers arrested 18-year-old Ladane Smith and 17-year-old Martinez Jackson for the incident that locked down Jefferson Junior High School on Tuesday.Smith was arrested for first degree trespass and unlawful use of a weapon with a bond of $5,000. Jackson was arrested for first degree trespass and third degree assault with a $5,000 bond. The victim in the fight was not injured.The Boone County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Smith with unlawful use of a weapon. Jackson has not been charged yet, but his case is still being investigated.***ORIGINAL STORY***Columbia school officials say the lockdown at Jefferson Junior High School has been lifted.The school went into lockdown after a fight was reported at nearby Douglass Park. Police do not know if any weapons were involved in the fight, but one of the individuals ran into the school, which prompted the lockdown.Officers arrested two individuals. It is unknown if anyone was injured of if charges will be fired.
