Holiday Traffic Report Released

The Missouri State Highway Patrol released its statistics for the Thanksgiving holiday.During the counting period, which ran from 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21st to midnight Sunday, November 25th, troopers responded to 350 accidents. They say 140 people were injured and there was one fatality statewide.Troopers also arrested 140 people for driving while intoxicated.Last year, troopers worked 365 crashes, which had 125 injuries. During the 2011 Thanksgiving holiday, four people were killed statewide in traffic accidents and 126 were arrested for driving while intoxicated.The only fatality happened on Wednesday, when Austin C. Turner, 19, of Golden, Mo. died in an accident in Barry County.
