High Flying Fun
If Monday night was any indication, the 15th-ranked Missouri Tigers might have the one of the most exciting teams in the country to watch this season. Mizzou beat Northwest Missouri State in its exhibition opener at Mizzou Arena, 91-58. Tiger fans were treated to plays all night long that elicited “oooohhhs” and “aaaahhhhs.”Keion Bell — who introduced himself to Tiger nation by dunking over six people to win the slam dunk contest at Mizzou Madness — had three dunks himself, including one in traffic over two Bearcat defenders. Phil Pressey delighted the crowd with 11 highlight reel-quality assists (nine of which came in the first half).Earnest Ross led all scorers with 22 points on 6-10 shooting from the three-point line. Bell and Laurence Bowers — playing in his first game against another team since blowing out his ACL last year — were the only other Tigers in double figures with 20 and 14 respectively. Alex Oriakhi had eight points and 10 rebounds.
