Gunman in Local Shooting Caught
Authorities have arrested a suspect who allegedly shot three people in Columbia in September.Christopher Brown, 27, was caught in Kansas City Tuesday afternoon. Boone County Sheriff’s deputies believe he opened fire on a group of people on North Gregory Drive. “He fired indiscriminately,” said Det. Tom O’Sullivan. “We’ve been actively searching for him in the past two months. This is a significant step in this case getting the suspect into custody.”A 24-year-old man and 22-year-old woman were shot, and a third victim was later found on Lawnridge Drive.All of the people are recovering and no longer in the hospital.Family members for two of the victims think it started with a domestic dispute, and another woman, Sierra Smith, planned the assault. She was arrested a day after the shooting and already pleaded guilty.Officials say they will take Brown to the Boone County jail sometime in the next few days.
