Former Mamtek CEO In Court

***UPDATE 12 P.M.***In court Tuesday morning, Bruce Cole’s lawyer argued that Cole’s $500,000 bond is too high. The defense told Judge Mason Gebhardt that Cole is not a flight risk and has no prior criminal history. The state countered saying that Cole would immediately leave for California and that it would cost too much to monitor him. The judge said he will deliberate on the issue for a couple of days. When the judge said he would hold off on making a decision, Cole made an expression that did not sit well with the court. The judge warned him to cut out the sarcasm or he would make a decision immediately that Cole would not like.Cole’s lawyer then tried to settle him down and proceed with business, but as the hearing progressed, Cole began to lash out at the judge despite his lawyer’s advice.”I’m suggesting when I say something, I don’t need commentary out of you,” said Judge Gebhardt.”I apologize your honor, my commentary is really to assist my lawyer,” replied Cole.Judge Gebhardt also denied Cole access to a law library, stating that since Cole has an attorney, he does not require access to the material. In addition, the judge decided Cole can wear civilian clothing, rather than a jumpsuit, in future court appearances.***ORIGINAL STORY***The former CEO of Mamtek will be in court Wednesday morning, trying to get his bond lowered.Bruce Cole is in jail right now in Randolph County.
